About 400 Chinese workers and 200 foreign employees participate in a chorus competition held by China Gezhouba Group Corporation in central Kuwait to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of PRC.

KUWAIT CITY, Sept. 30 (Xinhua) -- China Gezhouba Group Corporation (CGGC) held on Monday a chorus competition to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.

About 400 Chinese workers and 200 foreign employees from CGGC participated in the event, held on the construction site of CGGC in the desert region of central Kuwait.

At the opening ceremony of the competition, He Baisen, general manager of CGGC's infrastructure networks at the South AL Mutlaa Residential Project, said that Kuwait's "Vision 2035" and China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative brought great opportunities.

"We will make efforts to contribute to the production and construction of the project," he noted.

During the event, the Chinese employees of the project, dressed in festive costume, expressed blessings for the motherland with Chinese songs.

Foreign employees from the front line of construction brought enthusiastic Indian folk dances and Nepalese carnival dances to the audience, sending the most sincere respect and blessing for the event.

Ahmad Yaseen Mohammad Hasaballah from Egypt sang a famous Chinese song in fluent Chinese language, winning applause from the audience.

"This is the first time I have participated in the overseas National Day celebration," Xie Han, a new employee said. "I am so proud to have the opportunity to celebrate the National Day with my Chinese and foreign colleagues."

CGGC's infrastructure network is part of the Kuwaiti South AL Mutlaa Residential Project and is the largest project for CGGC in the Kuwaiti market.

The construction area for the CGGC is nearly 30 square km and started officially at the end of April 2017.

The residential project is an important welfare project in Kuwait. The total construction area of the project is 100 square km, and it will accommodate 400,000 people after completion.
